Allied Invasion of Sicily 1943 is a turn based strategy game set on the Mediterranean Theater during the Second World War. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011You are in command of the amphibious assault force of two separate Allied armies invading the island of Sicily in the summer of 1943. Codenamed Operation Husky, it is effectively the first step in the Allied Italian campaign to strike into the soft underbelly of Axis held Europe, as Churchill elegantly said. In addition of taking on the Axis powers and the fierce fighting in the mountain passes, the campaign is well known for the competition between British and Americans forces to reach Messina before each other. The British Chiefs of Staff pushed the invasion of Sicily, arguing it would force Germany to disperse its forces and knock Italy out of the war and move Turkey to join the Allies. The Americans opposed the plan but eventually agreed to the Sicilian invasion to reduce the Axis attacks against the Allied shipping on the Mediterranean.FEATURES:+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup.+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the games smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.+ Supports casual play: Easy to pick up, leave off, continue later.+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of hourses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more.+ Tablet friendly strategy game: Automatically scales the map for any physical screen size/resolution from small smartphones to HD tablets, while settings allow you to fine tune hexagon and font sizes.+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units.Join your fellow strategy gamers in changing the course of the Second World War!Privacy Policy (full text on website and app menu). I want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any solo indie developer could dream of. If you have advice on how to improve this board game series please use email. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if there is a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will get back to you. Thanks for understanding!+ Minefields requested by Generals/Commanders now arrive with one turn delay+ Assigning replacements (+1 HP) to a unit is a bit easier (3 adjacent enemy hexagons allowed, but the severity of enemy-blocks-replacements depends on the Difficulty Level+ HOF relocated to web (see dev-log for details)+ AI artillery might escape capture (happens less often than Generals escape)+ AI: Improvements in front line coherence+ HOF cleared from the oldest scores+ Fix: Initial unit overlap

Good game.

For those familiar with other offerings in the series, this regiment/brigade level game offers little room for encirclement, with the Axis forces holding multiple lines of bunkers behind rivers, and there's not much option than to smash your way through. The resources could have used fewer hospitals and (way) more pontoons, but that aside, it has all the elements you love in this series.

Thanks Joni another great game. Big with plenty of replay ability took awhile to get my head around not stacking the armies on top of each other but the differences between games makes this range special

Easiest conflicts game in awile. This one focuses on controlling roadways. All of Joni's games are a blast.

All ready one of my favorites. Playing it again with a different strategy.

Another 5 star installment to the series, this one adds provinces and some really neat per-unit tactical controls to the mix.

Joni is the best independent game designer out there. The Conflict Series recalls the glory days of Avalon Hill and SPI. I don't want to spend hours learning "how to play" a game. Give me something that's easy to learn, yet complex and challenging in execution. Sicily 1943, and the rest of the series, fits this bill.

Worth the wait!.Good balance early which I'm prepared will change. Lots of tactical decisions/options more than most conflict games. Captn Joni's helpful too.
